Science

We painted our hands as though we had sneezed into them and then spread our ‘germs’ to other people.

The next of our famous Scientists/Inventors we studied was Tim Smit.  He is the founder of the Eden Project. We replicated some of their biomes at the Eden Project by building miniature greenhouses.

With the Spring weather meant to be a bit nicer, we could go on our school trip and consolidate our learning around animals and their habitats. Meanwood Ranger, David led us on a pond dipping survey of Adel Pond. We discovered frog spawns, smooth newts, water louse and much more fascinating pond life

Our work on Everyday materials flowed nicely into our next topic of Scientists and Inventors with the first we were studying being Charles Macintosh and his work on waterproof materials.

We conducted an investigation as part of our Everyday Materials topic to see which material you could change the shape of the most.

We thought about some of the different habitats here in the UK and sorted the correct animals into their most common habitat.

Before we looked at our topic of animals and their habitats, we classified items into the categories of living, dead or never been alive.
