We will start today by looking at the perimeter of rectangles, so click on this link to watch the lesson video (from White Rose Maths) ('Perimeter of a rectangle') and then complete the first activity sheet below.

We will then move on to looking at how to work out the perimeter of rectilinear shapes without a square grid, so click on this link to watch the lesson video (from White Rose Maths) ('Perimeter of rectilinear shapes') and then complete the second activity below.

Thursday 12th November

Like on Tuesday, if you are not in school today, we will catch up today's lesson once you return to school.

So, again, take the opportunity today to make sure that you are as up-to-date as possible with any lessons you may have missed and with your homework (including My Maths - more was set on Wednesday which is due next Thursday).

You can also spend some time practising your number bonds while playing this fantastic game - well, any pupils that I have shown this game to love it!

Click here to go to the game.

Wednesday 11th November

Keep practising your times tables. Calculations will become so much easier!

Tuesday 10th November

If you are not in school today, we will catch up today's lesson once you return to school.

So, take the opportunity today to make sure that you are as up-to-date as possible with any lessons you may have missed and with your homework (including My Maths).

You can also spend some time practising your number bonds while playing this brill game.

Click here to go to the game.

Monday 9th November

Start the lesson today by measuring and calculating the perimeters of the shapes on the first worksheet.

We will then move on to looking at how to work out the perimeter of shapes drawn on a square grid.

Click on this link to watch the lesson video (from White Rose Maths) ('Perimeter on a grid') and then complete the activity (the second sheet) below.

Thursday 5th November

In class we will look at converting kilometres to and from metres (see Tuesday's resources) and then look at adding and subtracting lengths.

Click on this link to watch the lesson videos (from White Rose Maths) ('Add lengths' and 'Subtract lengths') and then complete the activities below.

I won't be adding any activities for Friday as school is closed to pupils!

Wednesday 4th November

Tuesday 3rd November

Today we will continue to develop our skills with equivalent lengths - we will look at equivalent lengths in mm and cm (see Monday's resources) and then move on to equivalent lengths in km and m.

Click on this link to watch the lesson video (from White Rose Maths) ('Kilometres') and then complete the activity below.

Monday 2nd November

Welcome back after half-term!

Today we will recap two pieces of learning from Year 3 - knowing equivalent lengths in m and cm and knowing equivalent lengths in mm and cm.

Click on this link to watch the lesson videos (from White Rose Maths) ('Equivalent lengths m and cm' and 'Equivalent lengths mm and cm') and then complete the activities below.

Half-term

I hope everyone enjoys half-term - you deserve to!

I have not set any My Maths for homework this week. Instead, there is some problem-solving for you.

Those in school on Thursday have received one of the following sheets to tackle. Try at least one of the sheets. Number 2 is more challenging than number 1.

The homework is due to be handed in by Thursday 5th November.

Thursday 22nd October

We will look again at problem-solving today. The numbers are bigger today than on Tuesday - but again think carefully about what you need to do to solve the problems.

I would like you to focus on questions 6 to 10 (as these are two-step problems) but you are more than welcome to have a go at questions 1 to 5 as well!

Complete the activity below.

Wednesday 21st October

Spend time on TT Rock stars and improve your speed and recall of times tables.

Tuesday 20th October

For today's lesson, we will look at problem-solving using addition and subtraction. The numbers in these problems are smaller than the ones we have been using recently so the focus today is on what to do to solve the problems.

On Thursday, we will try and combine problem-solving with bigger numbers!

Complete the activity below.

Monday 19th October

Today we will move on and we will subtract with more than one exchange.

Click on this link to watch the lesson video (from White Rose Maths) (Subtract two 4-digit numbers - more than one exchange) and then complete the activity below.
