School Council

Welcome to the School Council Page.

Every September we hold School Council elections. Prospective candidates from Y2, Y3. Y4, Y5, Y6 have to explain to their class what they would like to do and the class then vote. We have 2 members from Y2, Y3,Y4,Y5 and 4 members from Y6.

The Council elect a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and hold regular meetings under the direction of our Learning Mentor, Mrs Jones. They discuss any issues that have been raised by members of their class. Representatives approach Miss McStay. Mr Stockdale, Miss Ferguson or Mrs Jamieson with their proposals. The School Council is regularly involved in making decisions that help to bring about continual school improvement at St, Urban's.They all make a valuable contribution.

Donations to the Hungry and Homeless

Frankie, Jack, Jamie, Sam and Ruby (Minnie Vinnies and School Council) went to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall, to take the food and clothing donations for the hungry and homeless. Our school managed to collect a whole host of useful items that were very gratefully received by Fr Gerard and David, a representative from St Jeanne Jugan Parish who assists with the Hungry and Homeless Project.

Thank you to all the pupils and families that contributed to this most worthy cause!

Thank you to all those who contributed to the Heart Radio appeal. We received a generous response for toys and games and all donations were greatly appreciated.

All the children pictured in the photos below met Rich, the Heart Radio presenter. He then surprised them with tickets to 'Disney on Ice' as a thank you for their contributions.
